Country Barn (Corner Cafe) - Bar Rescue Update

In this week's episode of Bar Rescue, Jon Taffer and crew are in Horseshoe Bend, Idaho to rescue Corner Cafe Bar & Grill.  In July 2021, financial investor David Johan purchased the Corner Cafe because he thought he was getting good value for his investment.  He bought the bar for about $450,000 and he is currently losing about $5,000 a month.  The bar is supposedly six months away from closing, so they called in for help from Bar Rescue

During the Bar Rescue makeover, Jon Taffer decided to change the name of Corner Cafe Bar & Grill to Country Barn Corner Cafe and the bar has kept the name. Let's take a look at some information, reviews, and updates for Country Barn since Bar Rescue came and made all of the changes to the bar (All reviews are post-Bar Rescue):

Positive Reviews:
  • "Great service with excellent food. Best breakfast out in years. Highly recommended!!!!"
  • "Great food, friendly service, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere. The very definition of a local hang out spot. We will eat here lots more often when we live in town."
  • "Had the jalapeƱo bacon mac and cheese. Very good. The blt (pioneer) was also really good. If you are around stop in. The service was excellent."
  • "Great plate of food, home made biscuits and jam. Descent wait time. Good breakfast!"
  • "The Country Barn Corner Cafe is an absolute gem. This place has everything you could want in a restaurant: great food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The menu is full of classic American dishes, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast, a juicy burger, or a delicious sandwich, the Country Barn Corner Cafe has got you covered. And if you're a coffee lover like me, you won't be disappointed with their selection of hot and cold brews. But what really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. It's warm, inviting, and perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a meal with your family. The decor is charming and rustic, with plenty of vintage touches that give the place a unique character."
  • "That bar rescue episode was absolute slander. Any local not too caught up in small town drama could see that it's a fine, locally run establishment with friendly staff and exceptional food. Don't let live television dictate your views on things!!"
  • "Great Establishment here. Great food. Nice bar as well. Great people."
  • "Perfect breakfast stop! Cozy rustic decor with hand hewn tables and chairs, full breakfast menu. Had a breakfast biscuit with fluffy homemade biscuits. Huge pancakes! Efficient server kept our large mugs of coffee hot."

Negative Reviews:
  • "This restaurant has unfortunately declined in recent years. It no longer has the wonderful pies for dessert, the music was too loud on the radio, the service was poor, but the food was great"
  • "Breakfast buffet was the only available option. Was not good. Unattended so the food was stale and rubbery. Wait staff was not attentive to tables. Had to find a body in order to pay the check. We've tried this place several times and have been repeatedly disappointed. I guess it's time to call it and stop going there."
  • "I don’t remember the last time I walked out of a restaurant. But I did today. I could not get waited on. They waited on multiple tables around me,it took 20 minutes to get a drink, and I had to go get my own menu. I waited for about 15 minutes after getting my own menu and no one came to take my order. I continued to make eye contact hoping someone would come. Walked out without receiving any food and went down the street."
