Dual Ultra Nightclub (Cashmere) From Bar Rescue Has Closed

Dual Nightclub in Raleigh, North Carolina, which was featured on season 3 of Bar Rescue has closed. They seem to have closed some time in May 2014 as they stopped updating their Facebook page and had the following statuses on their Twitter page:

When somebody asked them on Twitter if they were closed, the bar responded with: "Yep. Bar sold. #RIP #ThatShowIsTheKissOfDeath"

I reached out to the bar to ask why they closed, and they said "owner received offer on the property and decided it was time to sell. The owner got out of the bar industry."

This episode is mostly known for the "All In" manager James aka DJ Blue Steel. I reached out to James to ask him why the bar closed, and he decided to take a shot at Jon Taffer.

A local article shortly after the Dual Nightclub episode aired said that James wasn't even the manager at the time the Bar Rescue episode was filmed.  He left the bar in February of 2013, but was asked back to do the show because Bar Rescue supposedly said they wouldn't do the show without him.  While filming the show, James said it was "coached reality" with the producers egging him on to behave badly.  The article also said that one of the cocktail waitresses on the show was a friend of the owners and never actually worked there.

Dual Ultra Nightclub has now been marked as 'Closed' on the Bar Rescue Update Page.  Visit that page for updates on all bars that have appeared on Bar Rescue, and Like Us on Facebook or Follow us on Twitter for additional updates.

  2. All finished! Quite frankly, I'm glad to see them go under. "All-In" James makes up his own character to play on the show, and tries to blame the producers. The owner wasn't quite as desperate as he was made out to be...he just wanted a free remodel.

  3. Real DJ Blue Steel? Sounds like another DJ taking an ill fated stab at celebrity. Poor ownership & "Blue Steel" are the reason they failed. Taffer and company set these slobs on the right path but they knew better. Fools.

  5. They really say the show is the kiss of death?? When they sold the bar for money? Unless they sold for less .... but, then why would they sell. Sniff sniff smells like cat food

  6. I wish I could of visited this club after it was remodeled, but apparently the management did a poor job to nourish what Taffer created for them. What a shame! That place could of made a lot of money, but sounds like the owner wanted a remodel to make it marketable to sell.

  7. The show is fake. The remodel is not free. Taffer takes a percentage of ownership or fee. I used to watch this then 1 episode changed the whole way the show was done. They realized in the tv world they need drama to get ppl to watch. Then the fake BS started. Its so fake its not even good anymore. Followers dropped them like a bad habit on twitter.

  13. Fantastic show, jon really knows his stuff, when he leaves, the stupidest owners have themselves to blame if it goes wrong, they were given the proper working tools for success but heeded the trustees of the show, hell mend them if they go bust

  14. Was this was the episode with the "All In!" complete moron? This imo was one of those places that deserved to, should have failed. Darwinism in business has a function and this place was one that needed to be culled. Every time that idiot babbled "I'm all in" I wanted to punch him.

  15. Sounds like the owner is just butthurt and trying to blame Jon for his own failures(much like many restaurant owners do to Gordon Ramsay in Kitchen Nightmares) it's his own damn fault he failed, don't feel one bit sorry for him.

  16. You have no clue what you're talking about.

  17. That's actually not true, I have a friend that works on the show, and he said it's for real. Some scenes are staged, but the outcome is for real.

  18. At the end of every episode, the show shows a sponsor called ESRI. ESRI specializes in demographics... I'm sure Taffer takes that into account.

  19. Honestly, I don't know anything about whether or not the bar was good. However, I'm from Raleigh, NC and all of Glenwood Ave. is dying. It used to have a nice nightclub scene but it's been getting trashy for years. Everyone young goes to Fayetteville St.

Gurantee the ALE caught wind of them tampering with tax stamps and pulled their liquor license.

  22. I'm sure you right since the DJ is related to actor Tony Danza (Antonio Salvatore Iadanza) so is it a coincidence I don't think so.....it's all politics of who knows who

  25. I think a lot of these bars get "rescued" and then sell for more $$. They can't blame bar rescue, because they call because they are going under.

  26. So, he is related to an actor. I worked for Sylvester's Stallone's brother at a law firm in Los Angeles. He was the firm's administrator. Your point?
