Southern Still (615 District) - Bar Rescue Update

In this week's episode of Bar Rescue, Jon Taffer and crew are in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to rescue 615 District.  The bar is having issues because the owner has her boyfriend running the bar and he has no prior experience or professional skills.  During recon, the bar is missing drink ingredients and the food does not look appetizing.

During the Bar Rescue makeover, Jon Taffer decided to change the name of 615 District to Southern Still and the bar has kept the name. Let's take a look at some information, reviews, and updates for Southern Still since Bar Rescue came and made all of the changes to the bar (All reviews are post-Bar Rescue):

Positive Reviews:
  • "The food was awesome! The portions were great! I got fried pork chops, turnip greens, and white beans and hot water cornbread. My husband got chicken and dressing, mashed potatoes and green beans. We also got an order of apples. The food was absolutely delicious. The waitress was awesome! The chef even stopped by to ask us if we liked the food!"
  • "Back from Restaurant Rescue. This place is legit!! Good southern staples, nice venue, excellent service"
  • "Great food. They have Great happy hour and wing specials. Good atmosphere. Food is prepared fresh."
  • "We stopped through for a late lunch and had amazing service! the food was fantastic! very clean place, definitely impressed! will be back again if we are ever in the area! highly recommend! Mary did great!!"
  • "Absolutely delicious!! Driving by and decided to stop in. I will be back! Chasity was so helpful with me deciding what to get. The lamb & oxtails are divine!"
  • "The Aesthetic and vibe in this place is top tier. All of the workers was really nice and on top of their customer service. The food, drinks & hookah was on POINT! My favorite dishes was the fried pickles and the Memphis slider. I will be back to enjoy this place again"
  • "Chasity took great care of us!!! I can't wait to come back again. Such a well rounded atmosphere and positive attitude from the entire staff. Everyone was super welcoming and accommodating. The food is always exceptional, too. The catfish, chicken and dressing, and literally every side is worth getting every chance you can."
  • "I have been to this establishment several times for food and they never disappoint... Everything was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is great!"
Negative Reviews:
  • "Nice staff, fun loving! Food quality was mediocre and beer selection (for a restaurant with the word "still") very limited."
  • "Chicken wings were horrible 😫. Nothing like the pictures onlne. Naked and with no seasoning and not cooked hard enough."
  • "Unfortunately, I came here to support and I was HIGHLY disappointed to say the least. I arrived at 8pm on a Friday night to only find that several items on the menu were out and not being recooked at all and the restaurant closes at 11pm?!"
  • "Went to see what was new since the name changed and found out that the prices were higher for the same food and the service was just as bad as it always is three wait is long and the food is not good at all and the servers act like you are bothering them"

Conclusion:

Jon Taffer decided to change the name of 615 District to Southern Still and the bar has kept the name. The reviews for the bar are mostly positive and they all complement the food, but not many mention the drinks or bar aspects of Southern Still. The reviews have definitely improved since the Bar Rescue makeover though.  The bar doesn't have much of an online presence, so they may want to work on that.
