Big Dog Saloon - Bar Rescue Update

In this week's episode of Bar Rescue, Jon Taffer and crew are in Mt. Dora, Florida to rescue Big Dog Saloon.  The owner is struggling to run the business after the tragic passing of her partner. Her daughter and son-in-law offer to help, but she is unwilling to accept their ideas.  During recon Jon sees that the bar is infested with fruit flies and they are serving only frozen pizzas and popcorn.

During the Bar Rescue makeover, Jon Taffer decided to keep the name of Big Dog Saloon. Let's take a look at some information, reviews, and updates for Big Dog Saloon since Bar Rescue came and made all of the changes to the bar (All reviews are post-Bar Rescue):

*As the bar closed and then reopened with different owners, we will not go into details of the reviews.

Conclusion:

Jon Taffer decided to keep the name of Big Dog Saloon and the bar closed about 9 months after the makeover when a developer took over the site.  Big Dog Saloon then reopened at the beginning of April 2026, just before the Bar Rescue episode first aired.   There are new owners of the bar, so the bar will be listed as 'Sold' on the Bar Rescue Updates page as it is still operating under the same name, but with different owners.
