Owner from Bar Rescue's Pit and Barrel Shoots and Kills Man

Photo - WSMV
Here is some more crazy news involving a bar from Bar Rescue.  Tonight, the new Bar Rescue episode that is scheduled to air at 10pm was at the BoondoxXx BBQ which was transformed into Pit and Barrel.

Saturday, the owner of the Pit and Barrel, Chris Michaels Ferrell shot and killed Jerald Wayne Mills at the bar.  Jerald Wayne Mills was part of the Wayne Mills Band.  The news stories that are out there about the incident state that Chris Michaels Ferrell and Wayne Mills got in an argument around 5:00am over Mills smoking in a non-smoking section of the bar.  Things escalated and Chris Michaels Ferry shot Wayne Mills in what he is claiming was self-defense.  Wayne Mills was transported to the hospital and later died.

Man Fatally Shot Behind Second Base Bar From 'Bar Rescue'

Photo - Spike TV
NBC Los Angeles is reporting that last night, a man in his 30's was fatally shot behind Second Base Bar and Grill in Orange, California.  There was apparently a fight in the parking lot behind the bar and a Hispanic male was fatally shot.  The suspect fled in a white car or SUV before police arrived.

The Second Base Bar and Grill (originally named Extremes) was on season 2 of Bar Rescue and the reviews of the bar haven't been too great lately.  This incident probably will not help things too much.

Bar Rescue - Stand Up Scottsdale (Laugh Factory) Update

Stand Up Scottsdale, which was on Season 3 of Bar Rescue, recently had a news story done about them and their experience on Bar Rescue.  During the show, Jon Taffer decided to make the Green Room of the bar bigger and tried to set the owner up with the Laugh Factory franchise.  After Bar Rescue left, owner Howard Hughes decided to keep the name of the bar/club as Stand Up Scottsdale.

In the recent news story, Howard reflects on his experience with Bar Rescue and the changes needed after the show left.  The story also reflects another case of Bar Rescue not checking the local code before doing updates.

Here are the highlights of the news story:

Bar Rescue - M T Bottles and Cans (M T Bottle) Update

Let's take a look at some information, reviews, and updates of M T Bottles and Cans since Bar Rescue came and made all of the changes to the bar.

Jon Taffer's Advice For Bars To Get Around 'ObamaCare'

Jon Taffer was on Fox & Friends earlier this week promoting his book Raise the Bar: An Action-Based Method for Maximum Customer Reactions, and talked about tips for business owners.  With it being Fox News, of course they had to ask him about 'ObamaCare' or the Affordable Care Act.  Jon stated that in the bar industry, he is suggesting adjustments where instead of switching to part-time employees, he is suggesting bars team up with each other and share employees.  For example, two bars could share an employee and have them work 20 hours at each bar.  That way the employees can work full-time, but businesses wouldn't have to deal with the regulations.  I'm not sure how many bars this would impact as I think you need 50 full-time employees before you have to provide insurance, which most bars have nowhere near that amount.

Jon also states in the interview that people need to stop blaming other people for their business failing and start blaming themselves.  At the end, Jon states that he thinks only 4 or 5 bars have closed, but as of now, the count from this site is eight.

Video of the interview is after the jump:
