The Brick Tavern is owned by Charlene Winter who is a successful real estate executive who decided to get into the bar business. She bought the bar in 2012 and it initially had success due to its loyal customer base. Charlene is supposedly $530,000 in debt and has tapped into her retirement funds. Jon needs to help Charlene to become a better boss and to help get her personal assistant Cassie to step up and lead the bar.
During the Bar Rescue makeover, Jon Taffer decided to change the name of The Brick Tavern to Char Bar & BBQ and the bar has kept the name.
